The aim of the study was to
examine palliative care clinicians' level of knowledge of the law regarding the
use of the Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DoLS). The authors found that clinicians working in palliative care have good levels of knowledge of
the DoLS but raised concerns about the difficulty of using them in practice, the relevance of the Safeguards to palliative care and delays in assessments.
